There will for sure 100% be challenges with both. I generally am having more fun with ukulele because I feel I'm learning faster and that's motivating me more, but keep in mind, with neither instrument will you become a professional in a week. Two, even if you share similar or the same issues to me, you shouldn't always do something just because it's easier. If you have larger hands, my opinion is basically rendered pointless. Keywords there though, "For me." One, my main issue has been my hand size, not my motivation, or ability to read sheet music, or anything like that. In my personal opinion, that seems much easier, but honestly, do I advocate for doing what I do? Not fully.ĭon't get me wrong, this method seems to be working wonders for me. I'd like to learn that one as well, and use the two ukes to ease my way into learning the guitar again. My goal is in the future to get a baritone ukulele, since it's more similar to the guitar. I don't think that will be the case though, I currently really like it. Hell, in two months, I could completely drop the instrument. My little baby hands are much less of an issue now, and the initial ease of learning really drew me in. It didn't go without regret though! I got the instrument about two weeks ago, and am already better at it than I currently am at guitar. Once I saw this ukulele though, I knew for a fact I needed it, and made a bit of an impulsive purchase. The instrument had always seemed appealing to me, but I had never seriously considered it. I really wanted to support him, and found he was selling a ukulele. Later, the twitch streamer and youtuber Tubbo had a merch drop. I did learn a bit to my own credit, and my efforts didn't go completely without failure, but I found it really hard to play much more than simple chords, due to my hands being the literal size of a child's still. Recently, about a year ago, I tried picking it back up again. I played guitar when I was little, got decant at it to a seven year old's standards, then dropped it as I perused other hobbies. I know this was four years ago and you likely don't need advice anymore, but just gonna place this in case any others stumble across it looking for similar answers.
